King and a poet who lived with homesickness for the homeland
Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur is a significant representative of Uzbek literature, poet, scientist, commander, statesman, and founder of the Great Baburid Dynasty. He was born on February 14 in Andijan.
Babur is a famous figure in the history of the Uzbek people. The spiritual heritage he created as a scientist-historian, a talented writer, and a wonderful poet is priceless. Being an important statesman, he found time to engage in creativity. His “Baburnama” is considered one of the unique examples of Uzbek literature. The main motive of the poet’s works is longing for the Motherland. This theme is widely reflected in the ghazals and rubai of Babur. At the same time, his lyrics glorify high human qualities, a sense of justice, and humanism. Currently, 119 ghazals, 209 rubai, more than 10 tuyuqs and qitas, more than 50 muammo and more than 60 fards of Babur are known.
