Iran hosted a meeting of the Council of Permanent Representatives of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO). Ambassadors of the participating countries, including the Ambassador of Uzbekistan, Fariddin Nasriyev, attended it.

At the meeting, ECO Secretary General Khusrav Noziri announced the completion of his diplomatic mission. Until the new Secretary General Asad Majeed Khan takes office, the organization will be headed by Deputy Secretary General Kashif Zaman.

During Khusrav Noziri’s activity as ECO Secretary General, two summits and three meetings of foreign ministers were successfully held. He thanked Uzbekistan for hosting the 16th high-level summit of the organization in Tashkent in 2023.

Ambassador Fariddin Nasriyev, in turn, expressed gratitude to Khusrav Noziri for supporting and implementing the initiatives the President of Uzbekistan promoted within the ECO.

The meeting participants noted Khusrav Noziri’s significant contribution to strengthening cooperation and developing the Economic Cooperation Organization during his activity as Secretary General.
