Khorezm is becoming a hub for international forums
11:21 / 2026-01-07

Khorezm is not only a historical destination, but also a place of uninterrupted dialogue across the ages, a land where the exchange of words and ideas has continued for thousands of years. Once a stopping point for caravans on the Great Silk Road, this region has once again become an open venue for international conferences, scientific forums, cultural dialogue, and prestigious events.

In 2025, alongside the rest of the country, this oasis secured its place in history with significant achievements in the socio-economic and cultural-humanitarian spheres, as well as through major international conferences.

Last year, more than ten international festivals and over 20 local mass events were held in the region.

These included international events such as the International Bakhshi Art Festival, the Melon Festival, the “Lazgi” International Festival, the International Strongmen Competition, the Khorezm International Investment Forum, and the “National Cuisine of the Khorezm Khans” International Gastronomic Festival.

Throughout the year, more than two million foreign tourists from over 150 countries visited the region. When combined with domestic tourists, this figure reaches nearly eleven million.

Necessary measures have also been outlined for the current year. This is because transforming Khorezm, where tourism is the primary driver of the economy, into a fully developed destination will improve the living standards of its two-million-strong population.
