The Minister of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan Ozodbek Nazarbekov got acquainted with preparations that are carried out for Lazgi International Dance Festival to be held this week in the city of Khiva.
Exhibitions on dance art, demonstration and sale of national musical instruments and costumes, handicrafts, works of fine and applied art, sculptures, feature films and documentaries, audio and video discs, books, albums and photographs will be organized during the festival.
According to the charter of the event, the work of the participants will be evaluated by an international jury, which will include famous masters of dance art, artists, art historians and musicologists, composers, and specialists from all over the world. The winners of the festival will be determined in three nominations – “Best solo dancer”, “Best dance group” and “Best dance production”, which will then be awarded valuable prizes. The most active participants will also be rewarded.
The Minister of Culture Ozodbek Nazarbekov noted the need for holding the Lazgi International Dance Festival at a high level, since this event is a demonstration of the dance art of our people as one of the types of its intangible cultural heritage. Responsible employees were given the appropriate tasks.
