Today, the Ichan-Kala and Arda Khiva complexes in Khiva will launch the traditional Melon Festival (Qovun Sayli).

Visitors will be treated to tastings of rare Khiva melon varieties, folk games, concerts, craft fairs, and the authentic atmosphere of an oriental celebration. 

The program will include theatrical performances, puppet shows, and displays of national costumes, as well as exhibitions of traditional dishes, Khorezm bread, and handicrafts, live performances by art ensembles and folklore groups, masterclasses, and displays of fine and applied arts.

The main festival events will take place in the Ichan-Kala tourist complex on August 8-9 and in Arda Khiva on August 10, culminating in gala concerts featuring local and international stars.
