Kemalettin Aydın: “Uzbekistan is a country capable of offering promising solutions to global and regional challenges”
16:38 / 2025-10-01

Rector of the University of Health Sciences of Türkiye, Professor Kemalettin Aydın, commented on the speech of President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev at the 80th anniversary session of the UN General Assembly:

“As the Rector of the University of Health Sciences, I closely follow the foreign policy of our brotherly country, thanks to our close cooperation with Uzbekistan in the field of medical education. I would like to express my deepest impressions of the address delivered by the esteemed President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, at the session of the UN General Assembly. The reforms of New Uzbekistan demonstrate that national transformation can be aligned with global responsibility, while socially oriented policies and efforts to improve people’s well-being become not only a national priority but also an essential element of international cooperation.

One of the most vivid examples of such cooperation can be seen in the educational projects of our University of Health Sciences in Uzbekistan, which were implemented in 2019 at the initiative and with the active support of the President of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Thanks to the brotherly relations and mutual understanding between the leaders of the two countries, today the University of Health Sciences in Uzbekistan is represented by such institutions as the Faculty of Medicine named after Ibn Sina in Bukhara, the Bukhara College of Medical Services named after Ibn Sina, the Faculty of Medical Sciences named after Ibn Sina, the Bukhara Faculty of Dentistry, as well as the recently established Samarkand Faculty of Medicine, Tashkent Faculty of Nursing, and the School of the Turkish Language. We are training doctors and medical specialists, and this year we are proud to celebrate the first graduation of doctors after a six-year program of study.

As part of our cooperation in the fields of education and healthcare, in 2022, I personally participated, along with a delegation of 10 professors, in the establishment of the Military Hospital of Uzbekistan, which enabled the performance of hundreds of surgeries. Subsequently, I was honored with the Badge of Distinction of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Uzbekistan. For me, this is an award that I will wear with pride throughout my life and, with the same pride, pass on to my grandchildren as a legacy.

What is particularly impressive are the reforms aimed at improving the quality of life of the population: the modernization of the healthcare system, the development of social resilience, the preservation of water resources, the introduction of a green economy, and renewable energy. All these decisions reflect the leader’s vision, his ability to see the broader picture of the world and to grasp the essence of the most complex problems of our time. This is linked to numerous initiatives both inside the country and beyond: hosting the World Summit on Professional Education, implementing new transformations in response to global climate change, developing healthcare, supporting children with oncological diseases, promoting a healthy lifestyle, and upholding the role of the UN as a key platform for joint action on global issues. Each of these steps underscores that Uzbekistan’s reforms are aimed not only at domestic development but also at the common good.

These measures are in harmony with the concept of a New Central Asia – a safe and friendly region where border issues are resolved, good-neighborly relations are strengthened, and mechanisms of mutual assistance are developed.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev is a strong and responsible leader of the people of Uzbekistan. He has prepared 100,000 specialists ready to contribute to the country’s development. All this shapes the image of Uzbekistan as a state capable of offering practical, forward-looking, and inspiring solutions to global and regional challenges. The reforms, ideas, and decisions of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev represent a harmonious combination of national development and international responsibility, making the country a model and a source of hope for a safer, more stable, and just future.

I would also like to particularly highlight the practical assistance of the Leader of Uzbekistan in the Palestinian issue. By evacuating 100 wounded Palestinians to Uzbekistan and providing them with treatment and care, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev gave the whole world a lesson in true humanism”.
