The media forum “Main trends in the transformation of the information field in the modern world and the OIC countries” is being held in Kazan. It is organized by the Union of OIC News Agencies and the Tatmedia Agency.

The conference is dedicated to the 55th anniversary of the establishment of the OIC.

The Tatmedia head, Aidar Salimgaraev, noted that this forum will become an essential platform for dialogue between Russia and the countries of the Islamic world and will contribute to the development of joint initiatives and action plans in the information sphere. The measures taken will lead to concrete results.

The Director General of the Union of OIC News Agencies, Muhammad Abd Rabbo Al-Yami, emphasized that the forum is being held to discuss the rapid development of foreign media within the framework of cooperation between Russian media institutions and the Union. He also noted the need to establish a civilized dialogue between religions and cultures, develop coexistence, actively participate in initiatives aimed at combating hatred and Islamophobia, and prepare articles that promote tolerance and closeness between peoples.

Deputy Chairman of the “Russia-Islamic World” Strategic Vision Group Farit Mukhametshin drew particular attention to the fact that the conference is being held to strengthen cooperation between media institutions of Russia and OIC countries.

It was emphasized that this forum would be essential in strengthening media ties.

The second session was dedicated to the issues of media space between unity and disintegration.

The forum will end with an official signing ceremony of the agreement.
