Participants of the International Scientific-Practical Conference “The role of the scientific heritage of Abu Rayhon Beruni in the development of world science”, dedicated to the 1050th anniversary of the great scientist Abu Rayhon Beruni’s birth, arrived in Beruni district.
The event was organized by the Republican Center for Spirituality and Enlightenment together with the Academy of Sciences, the National Commission of the Republic of Uzbekistan for UNESCO, the Art and Culture Development Foundation, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, Jokargy Kenes and the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Karakalpakstan. Scientists from Egypt, Türkiye, India, Iran, Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, Pakistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, China, Sweden, Russia, and Afghanistan participated in the event.
Participants of the event visited the symbolic grave of Beruni, and surahs from the Quran were recited. They planted tree seedlings with good intentions. The guests also visited the monument to the scientist in the district’s center. An exhibition of books and paintings dedicated to the life and scientific work of Abu Rayhon Beruni was organized at the Palace of Culture in the center of the district.
At the conference, Chairman of the Jokargy Kenes of the Republic of Karakalpakstan A. Orinbayev welcomed the participants of the event and spoke about the work carried out on the initiative of the Head of state to study and widely promote the exemplary life path of great scientists, their rich scientific and spiritual heritage, as well as the importance of the conference.
Lectures were heard on “Scientists of Central Asia in world civilization: the scientific heritage of Abu Rayhon Beruni”, “The contribution of Abu Rayhon Beruni to the development of world civilization”, “The global significance of the scientific heritage of Abu Rayhon Beruni”.
The event ended with a gala concert on the occasion of the scientist’s 1050th anniversary, held in the Amphitheater of the regional center.
