Muzaffar Turabayev defended Uzbekistan’s honor in the 1/8 finals of the men’s judo competition in the weight category up to 100 kg at the Olympics.

He had his first fight against Nurlikhon Sharkhonov from Kazakhstan and won.

Uzbekistan’s athlete will face Michael Korrel from the Netherlands in the quarterfinals.

Iriskhon Kurbanbayeva, competing in the weight category up to 78 kg among women, competed in the 1/8 finals with Rika Takayama from Japan but unfortunately lost.
