Journalists from Uzbekistan are holding meetings with U.S. officials
They are becoming acquainted with the state structure of the United States, peculiarities of governance, freedom of speech and expression, principles of democracy, science, education, culture and lifestyles.

A group of journalists from Uzbekistan visits Washington D.C. for an International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) in the United States. Within the framework of the program, journalists are becoming acquainted with the state structure of the United States, peculiarities of governance, freedom of speech and expression, principles of democracy, science, education, culture and lifestyles.
Uzbekistan’s central media representatives have visited Washington, Baltimore, and Minneapolis to get acquainted with activities of public administration in the United States, information and communication systems, journalism organizations and press services, and to establish cooperation.
Meetings were held at the U.S. Department of State, House of Representatives, Federal Communications Commission, journalism and press associations as well as at Voice of America international multimedia agency.
At the negotiations, it is emphasized that the reforms that have been taking place in Uzbekistan in recent years have marked the beginning of a turning point in the country’s mass media, and that flaws in society are boldly covered in the media by virtue of freedom of speech and press.
