Journalists exchanged experience in covering the Afghan conflict
On February 5-7, a press tour on the resolution of the Afghan conflict was organized in Moscow on the initiative of Russia Today International News Agency of the Russian Federation.
On February 5-7, a press tour on the resolution of the Afghan conflict was organized in Moscow on the initiative of Russia Today International News Agency of the Russian Federation. It was attended by journalists from Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Afghanistan.
At the event, journalists visited the Combat Brotherhood All-Russian Public Organization of Veterans and the museum under the same name, got acquainted with their activities. A meeting was held with the Chairman of the Combat Brotherhood All-Russian Public Organization of Veterans Boris Gromov. A tour to the museum was organized.
A visit was organized to the leading news agency Russia Today.
A meeting took place at the International Multimedia Press Center of Russia Today. Information on the history and activities of the agency was provided. A presentation of projects on media coverage for the settlement of the Afghan conflict was held.
Participants of the meeting received information about modern information media of the agency, experience in working with various groups, preparing, processing and disseminating information posted on the website of the media group.
The participants liked the advanced experience on preparation and distribution of materials for Sputnik and RIA Novosti agencies’ websites, a friendly and open atmosphere in the process of work. The parties exchanged experience on current areas of information policy.
The journalists visited and got acquainted with activities of sports, photo editorial office, as well as the department of preparing materials for the news feed. Information and analytical materials prepared here are broadcasted around the clock. At the meeting, which took place in the form of an open dialogue, questions were asked about preparation of materials, their selection, professional approach and editorial directions.
Following the press tour, member of the Federation Council Committee on Defense and Security of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Frants Klintsevich expressed his views on the current approaches in covering the Afghan conflict in the mass media.
