The Committee on Interethnic Relations and Friendly Ties with Foreign Countries held a press conference on the occasion of June 27 – Press and Media Workers’ Day.
Chairman of the Committee Rustambek Kurbanov emphasized that representatives of different nationalities and peoples live in harmony, making a worthy contribution to the country’s development. At the same time, the media contribute to informing the general public and the whole world of the renewal processes in the country, actively and analytically highlighting the great work to maintain interethnic harmony and social stability.
The Committee coordinates the activities of 153 national cultural centers and 36 friendship societies. It actively promotes the solution of such issues as the preservation and comprehensive development of the history, culture, spiritual values, traditions, and customs of all nations and peoples of Uzbekistan.
In the first quarter of this year, the Committee, together with national cultural centers and other partner organizations operating in the country, held 678 events. The information service of this structure and all types of media play an important role in conveying information about the activities of the Committee to the population.
