A delegation led by the Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Laziz Kudratov visited the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. Prospects for expanding cooperation were discussed, as well as the exchange of experience in attracting foreign direct investment and creating a favorable business environment, which took place during the meeting with the Minister of Investment of Jordan, Dr. Tareq Abu Ghazaleh.
A meeting was also held with the Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply of Jordan, Yarub Qudah, at which issues of increasing trade turnover and establishing direct contacts between the business circles of the two countries were discussed. Special attention was paid to the exchange of experience in industrial cooperation and export support. An agreement on the preparation of a draft agreement on preferential trade became the main result of the dialogue.
According to the program, negotiations were held with the host country’s officials – Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship Sami Smeirat, Chief Executive Officer of the King Hussein Business Park Ammar Izziddin, Chairman of Jordan Chamber of Industry Fathi Jaghbir, as well as heads of the country’s leading enterprises National Arab Mining, Zarhat, Arab Pesticides and Veterinary Drugs Manufacturing, Jordan Phosphate Mines, Grow Tech, Classic Fashion Apparel Industry.
Following the event, a roundtable discussion was held with the participation of representatives of more than 20 Jordanian companies operating in the pharmaceutical, chemical, textile, electrical, and food industries. The businesspeople were thoroughly familiarized with the practical aspects of the investment climate in Uzbekistan. They were offered promising ready-made projects, and specific areas of partnership were also agreed upon.
