20:33 / 2024-03-07

On the eve of International Women’s Day, one of Uzbekistan’s largest partners in traditional and alternative energy, ACWA Power, is holding a Women in Power business forum in Tashkent. The forum is designed to highlight issues of gender equality and celebrate the role of women in realizing the country’s economic potential.

Women in Power is the first event initiated by ACWA Power in Uzbekistan to discuss the unique opportunities available to women in the modern world. The event brought together opinion leaders from different sectors of the country’s economic and social life on one platform.

The forum was attended by representatives of companies in traditional and alternative energy, employees of international banks and financial organizations, the Ministry of Energy, national energy networks, and the Agency for Development and Regulation of the Energy Market.

Participants discussed trends and opportunities for increasing women’s participation in the economy and energy, best practices for creating an inclusive work environment, and the benefits of supporting fair opportunities for men and women in enterprises.

“Uzbekistan is in second place in terms of the company’s investment volume after Saudi Arabia, and it is a great honor for us to organize the first Women in Power forum in Tashkent. This is our way of demonstrating ACWA Power’s ongoing commitment to supporting women in the energy sector of Uzbekistan and beyond. At our enterprises, we strictly follow all international standards and treat each employee respectfully, striving to support her uniqueness and develop her talents. By launching this transformational platform for open dialogue, we strive to stimulate positive changes in society and promote innovation and sustainable growth of the economy of Uzbekistan through the active involvement of women in all spheres of society. Women in Power is the first event in a series of initiatives dedicated to the agenda of fair opportunities for men and women – we will hold even larger events in Uzbekistan this fall”, Jon Zaidi, CEO of ACWA Power in Uzbekistan, said.
