International online conference “COVID-19: Effective fight against the global pandemic – experience and practical conclusions of the German Medical University” has taken place.
The organizers of the conference are the Ministry of Health, the Service of Sanitary and Epidemiological Welfare and Public Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the OPASCA GmbH company, the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany, as well as the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Germany.
Participants of the event noted the need for cooperation between Uzbekistan and Germany in the field of medicine. Professor, Doctor of Medical Sciences of Germany Jochen Seufert made a presentation on the features of the treatment of COVID-19 in patients with diabetes. He noted that scientific information in this area has not yet been published and is being presented to Uzbek colleagues for the first time.

“The practice has shown that patients with diabetes are most often exposed to coronavirus infection”, says Professor Jochen Seufert. – In Germany, many deaths have been recorded due to infection with this virus in older people suffering from diabetes mellitus and overweight people. Of course, the treatment of such patients requires certain rules. In my report, I presented my scientific studies, practical recommendations for the treatment of coronavirus in patients with diabetes mellitus to Uzbek doctors. Uzbekistan is actively fighting COVID-19, and I am convinced that Uzbekistan doctors will be able to overcome the pandemic and treat patients with diabetes.
The participants made presentations on the methods of pharmacological treatment of patients with COVID-19 and the use of monoclinal antibodies, features of the treatment of COVID-19 among patients with diabetes mellitus and elimination of the consequences of COVID-19. Doctors from Germany shared their knowledge and experience.
