The Embassy of Uzbekistan in Japan hosted a workshop and a roundtable discussion on Uzbekistan citizens’ labor migration. The event was organized jointly with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and several employers in this country.

The Ambassador of Uzbekistan Mukhsinkhuja Abdurakhmonov informed the participants about the current situation in the migration and reforms aimed at improving the employment process abroad.

The JICA Project “Boosting Uzbekistan’s human resources potential in the industrial sector using employment opportunities in Japan” and the Japan Career Portal, designed to assist Uzbekistan citizens in finding work, were demonstrated at the meeting.

Japanese companies have expressed interest in attracting specialists from Uzbekistan. During the discussions, the parties agreed to develop practical measures to teach Japanese to migrant workers and improve their skills.

Following the event, the participants expressed a desire to expand cooperation in labor migration and identified areas for further joint work.
