14:31 / 2023-04-22

The head of the Central Asia Think Tank and the Doctor of the Guangzhou College of Commerce Jiang Lan shared her comments on the Constitutional reform carried out in Uzbekistan with Dunyo News Agency:

– The results of the nationwide referendum on the Constitution to be held in Uzbekistan on April 30 will show the level of support of Uzbekistan people for the reforms carried out in recent years to build a New Uzbekistan.

The amendments in the Constitution of Uzbekistan have aroused great interest and are receiving expert support from the world community. The active participation of citizens of the country in reforming the Constitution is evidenced by the fact that since the establishment of the Constitutional Commission in the country, more than 220,000 proposals have been received from citizens to improve it.

Uzbekistan’s new policy of openness significantly influenced the development of international relations. In recent years, under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, large-scale reforms have been carried out in the country, and the proposed changes to the Constitution are an integral part of the country’s renewal process.

Relations between China and Uzbekistan have also been on the rise over the past few years. Both sides show mutual interest in further enhancing relations in various areas, including trade, investment and education.

I am sure that the constitutional reform in Uzbekistan will unite the legislative, judicial, executive branches of the government and the people and will contribute to the transformation of the country into a leading state in a new era.
