Uzbekistan’s freestyle wrestler Javrail Shapiyev fought against the champion of the Rio 2016 Olympics and two-time world champion Hassan Yazdani from Iran.

Shapiyev fought with dignity with his experienced rival. However, following the results of the fight, Yazdani won and advanced to the next round.

If the Iranian wrestler reaches the final, Shapiyev will still have a chance to compete for the bronze medal, the National Olympic Committee reports.
