Jars of the XVI century found in Kashkadarya
The helpline of the Cultural Heritage Agency of Uzbekistan received an appeal from a citizen S.Rashidova, a resident of “Beglar” mahalla in Kashkadarya region’s Karshi city. According to the study conducted on the appeal, jugs of the XVI century were discovered during the digging of a trench for a water pipe along Balandnavo Street.
These vessels with holes on the bottom were located on top of each other. Experts concluded that judging by the position of the jugs, they performed the function of sewer pipes.
One of the jugs is well-preserved, and the second one is slightly damaged. It was found at a depth of 1.20 meters from the earth’s surface.
