JICA Uzbekistan Office, the Ministry of Preschool Education and the Ministry of Public Education of Uzbekistan signed a protocol on cooperation within the framework of the project for “Strengthening Teachers’ Capacity to Respond to Children with Disabilities in Preschool Education in Uzbekistan”.
According to the Ministry of Preschool Education, the goal of the project is to popularize inclusive education, to cover up issues related to knowledge and skills in the education of children with disabilities.
The project will be aimed at the development of children with physical, visual, auditory, intellectual and speech disorders, musculoskeletal systems, mental state. Japanese experts will be in Uzbekistan for six months for consultation within the project.
Another part of the project is short-term study programs in Japan. JICA annually for three years will host 12 experts from Uzbekistan – 10 from the Ministry of Preschool Education and two from the Ministry of Public Education.
Officials of the Ministry of Preschool Education and the Ministry of Public Education expressed their gratitude to JICA for the ongoing work to improve the quality of primary education and support children with disabilities.
