Sports delegations, officials of the International and Continental Weightlifting Federations, members of the technical commission are arriving in Uzbekistan to take part in the Continental Weightlifting Championship.
Teams from Bahrain, Vietnam, the Philippines, Syria, Jordan, South Korea and Saudi Arabia have already arrived in Tashkent. The arrival of national teams of Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, India and Iran is also expected.

Due to the epidemiological situation, the national teams of China, Japan and North Korea will not be able to take part in the competitions in Tashkent.
President of the International Weightlifting Federation IWF Mohammed Hasan Jalood (Iraq) and President of the Asian Weightlifting Federation Mohammed Yousef Al Mana (Qatar) arrived in Tashkent.
The guests got acquainted with the sports complex where the competitions will be held, the hotels where the athletes will be accommodated, and the venues for meetings and press conferences.

A meeting was also held with the Minister of Sports Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan Adham Ikramov, at which the agenda was discussed and agreements were reached on further strengthening cooperation. The guests highly appreciated the activity carried out to hold the Asian Championship at a high level.
Over 400 athletes from 22 countries and 38 weightlifters of Uzbekistan will take part in the Championship of the continent.
