A delegation led by the Speaker of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan Nuriddin Ismailov arrived in the capital of the Gambia, Banjul, to participate in the 15th Summit of Leaders of the Member States of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.

A meeting was held with the Deputy Speaker of the House of Parliament of the Gambia, Sidi Njie, at which information was provided on the legislative activities of the Oliy Majlis, in particular the Legislative Chamber, the work of committees and factions, as well as innovations in parliamentarism.

It was noted that establishing a dialogue in a constructive spirit, further enhancing and strengthening inter-parliamentary cooperation, which is an important factor in the development of bilateral relations, and building up dialogue in this direction is beneficial for both sides.

The parties agreed to strengthen the role of parliaments in strengthening practical cooperation between Uzbekistan and the Gambia.
