On the initiative of the Hokim of Navoi region, Normat Tursunov, an employee of the Centre for Continuing Education of the University of Helsinki, Finland, was appointed to the position of advisor to the head of the region on education.

According to the Hokimiyat of Navoi region, the head of the region N. Tursunov and the Finnish expert discussed the effectiveness of the strategy for the development of public education in the region, important aspects of work in the implementation of Finnish experience in Uzbekistan schools.

In three months, the Finnish specialist visited all cities and districts of the region, conducted workshops for teachers, and gave recommendations on the content of the process of education and training. Reports were presented on the effectiveness of the most priority, conceptual events, the unique environment of the region’s schools, and the high scientific potential of teachers.

Mr. Tursunov noted that all efforts will serve the further development of cooperation between the two countries.
