The Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade Laziz Kudratov has met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Türkiye to Uzbekistan Olgan Bekar.

According to MIIT, the Uzbek side expressed deep condolences in connection with the loss of life and significant damage caused by a strong earthquake that occurred in February in the southeastern regions of Türkiye. In turn, the Turkish diplomat expressed special gratitude to the leadership of Uzbekistan for sending rescuers to assist in the elimination of the consequences of a natural disaster in the regions of Türkiye affected by the disaster and a large amount of humanitarian aid.

The parties discussed the prospects for increasing the volume of mutual trade and investment cooperation. It was noted that the indicators of bilateral trade between Uzbekistan and Türkiye over the past three years have grown by one and a half times, and the volume of investments has doubled. The parties confirmed their intention to continue active cooperation to maintain such positive dynamics.

The parties considered the organizational issues of holding the next meeting of Uzbekistan – Türkiye Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation in the second half of this year. An agreement was reached to intensify the interaction of relevant ministries and agencies with developing promising contracts and agreements.
