On April 28, ISRS hosted a meeting with the delegation of the International Union of Non-Governmental Organizations the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly, which visits Tashkent to attend the INNOPROM. Central Asia International Industrial Trade Fair.
The Assembly organized and held a panel session “Greater Eurasian Partnership: From People’s Trust to Economies’ Trust”. It was attended by heads of relevant ministries and leading experts from Russia, France, Italy, and other countries.
At the meeting, it was emphasized that the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly is a unique international platform that allows representatives of completely different countries and nationalities to interact.
At the same time, the Assembly focuses its activities on the development of expert dialogue, the promotion of social, cultural and humanitarian interaction, and the strengthening of ties between non-governmental organizations not only in the vast Eurasian continent, but also beyond its borders.
Over 845 individuals and legal entities, representatives of NGOs from 53 countries are members of the Assembly. It was emphasized that the Assembly is working on the Eurasian agenda together with the UN, SCO, BRICS, ASEAN, and other major international organizations. It is planned to further develop the Assembly as an important tool of public diplomacy.
It was noted that Uzbekistan is of particular interest as a country in which interethnic harmony is maintained. Economic reforms are actively promoted, and the historical and cultural traditions of the people are revered.
An interest was expressed in establishing contacts between the Assembly and the expert community of Uzbekistan.
Following the meeting, a preliminary agreement was reached on further cooperation between the two organizations through the creation of joint projects and holding multi-level events, including the organization of roundtable discussions with the participation of international experts.
