On July 11, ISRS hosted a meeting with representatives of the National Institute for Strategic Studies under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic (NISS), who arrived in Uzbekistan on a working visit to get acquainted with the experience of Uzbekistan in reforming the national economy.
During the talks, the state and prospects of cooperation between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan and a thorough exchange of views on current issues on the international and regional agenda were discussed.
The experts highly appreciated the level of preparation and conduction of the electoral campaign in Uzbekistan. The transparency and compliance of the process with international standards, and the high activity of voters, were noted.
NISS representatives stressed the importance of Uzbekistan’s ongoing political and economic reforms. At the same time, interest was expressed in interaction and exchange of experience in organizing the activities of technology parks, free economic zones (FEZ), pharmaceutical zones, and various clusters.
Kyrgyz experts supported Uzbekistan’s foreign policy, which aimed at developing trade and economic cooperation, industrial cooperation, and interregional interaction.
Following the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness to expand research ties further and organize several practical events to develop expert dialogue.
