On July 18, as part of the state visit of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov to Uzbekistan, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Institute of Strategic and Regional Studies (ISRS) under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the National Institute of Strategic Initiatives (NISI) under the President of Kyrgyzstan.

ISRS Director Eldor Aripov and NISI Director Sanjar Mukanbetov signed the document.

The Memorandum provides for the basic principles and areas of cooperation, including maintaining mutual visits and regular working contacts between the two countries’ think tanks, organizing forums, workshops, and roundtable discussions, and exchanging publications and research information.

The document’s signing is expected to give additional impetus to the fruitful cooperation between ISRS and NISI and contribute to the further progressive development of expert dialogue.
