On October 4, 2021, Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan Ismatulla Irgashev met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Uzbekistan Hamid Nayyerabadi, Uzbekistan MFA reports.

The parties discussed the efforts of the two countries to enhance cooperation in the Afghan direction, as well as the situation in Afghanistan.

The Iranian Ambassador stressed Uzbekistan's active participation in establishing long-term and sustainable peace in Afghanistan.

The sides also exchanged views on the provision of humanitarian assistance to the Afghan people and economic assistance to Afghanistan.
