Special Representative of the President of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan Ismatulla Irgashev has met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the French Republic to Uzbekistan Ms. Aurelia Bouchez, Uzbekistan MFA reports.

The parties discussed the current state and prospects of Uzbekistan – France relations in the Afghan direction, in particular, the development of the current situation in Afghanistan.

The main attention was paid to the issue of intensifying bilateral cooperation in providing humanitarian assistance to the Afghan people.

The high-ranking diplomat highly appreciated Uzbekistan's efforts to provide economic assistance to Afghanistan, in particular, noted the importance and timeliness of Uzbekistan's initiative to create a multifunctional transport and logistics hub under the auspices of the UN in the Uzbek border town of Termez for the delivery of humanitarian aid to Afghanistan.
