Samarkand region’s khokimiyat, state and public organizations and general public visited the Islam Karimov mausoleum. Surahs from the Holy Quran were recited.

Participants recalled Islam Karimov’s merits on the way of achieving independence and prosperity of Uzbekistan. Large-scale activities carried out on the initiative of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to perpetuate the memory of the First President was particularly noted.

In particular, monuments to Islam Karimov have been erected in Tashkent, Samarkand and Karshi cities. A number of large objects, central streets of Uzbekistan are named in honor of great statesman and politician.

After visiting the mausoleum, participants laid flowers to the monument of Islam Karimov.

The event was attended by Samarkand region’s khokim E. Turdimov.
