The Islamic Development Bank allocated $200 million for the implementation of the “Sustainable Rural Development” project.

The main goal is the development of rural areas with the active participation of the local population.

113 plans have been developed, of which 31 are aimed at improving 160 social infrastructure facilities in five districts of the Republic of Karakalpakstan. It is planned to improve the standard of living of almost 710 thousand people in 170 mahallas. The road transport infrastructure, engineering and communication networks, and the power supply system will be improved.

With the participation of the rural population, using resource-saving and environmentally friendly technologies, kindergartens, secondary schools, rural medical centers and other social facilities will be built and reconstructed.
