A delegation led by the Speaker of the Parliament of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, accompanied by the Speaker of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Nuriddinjon Ismoilov, visited Samarkand.

Samarkand region’s Hokim Erkinjon Turdimov welcomed the guests at Samarkand International Airport. Members of the Iranian Parliament visited the Hazrati Khizr Complex, the mausoleum of the First President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov.

The guests were informed about the history of this complex, landscaping activities carried out here. They remembered the historical merits of Islam Karimov in the life of Uzbekistan and Uzbek people.

The delegation led by Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf got acquainted with the museum-complex of Mirzo Ulugbek, Shohi Zinda Monument, Registan Square. The guests were greatly impressed by the exhibition of national handicrafts organized in Tillakori Madrasah, unique historical objects located in Mirzo Ulugbek Madrasah and information about these historical monuments.

Representatives of the Iranian parliament also visited the Panjob Mosque in Samarkand. 

The guests departed from Samarkand for Bukhara.
