Irakli Mezurnishvili: “The elections are held at a high organizational level”

A group of observers who arrived in Uzbekistan for the important political event – the Presidential elections, held meetings with deputies of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis and announced the results of their observations.

The Chairman of Georgia – Uzbekistan Interparliamentary Group of Cooperation Irakli Mezurnishvili met with deputies of the Lower House of Parliament.

The guests were informed about the significant changes implemented in all spheres of life of Uzbekistan in recent years, in particular, about the conditions created for open and transparent conduction of elections, the work carried out to further develop the national electoral legislation.

Information was also provided on the structure of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, the activities of political parties and committees, friendship groups established within the framework of cooperation with foreign parliaments.

The parties also discussed the state and prospects for further development of inter-parliamentary relations, issues of cooperation between the two countries in trade-economic, innovation, transport-communication, cultural-humanitarian and other spheres.

It was noted that the Presidential elections in Uzbekistan were held at a high organized level, the voting process fully complied with international standards, the elections were open, transparent and without any violations.

Issues of further strengthening cooperation between the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis and the Parliament of Georgia were also discussed at the meeting.
