Interparliamentary cooperation with EU countries to be strengthened
The Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, Tanzila Narbayeva, met with the European Union Ambassador to Uzbekistan, Toivo Klaar.
At the meeting, it was noted that strategic relations between Uzbekistan and EU member states have reached a new level.
Discussions focused on expanding joint projects in trade, economy, education, healthcare, and innovation within the framework of the EU’s GSP+ system.

Particular emphasis was placed on Uzbekistan’s efforts in human rights protection, gender equality, and the broader involvement of civil institutions. The parties exchanged views on studying the experience of developed countries in these areas.
Additionally, an agreement was reached to enhance cooperation with EU member states to strengthen interparliamentary ties and improve legislative processes and parliamentary oversight.
