The Academy of the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Uzbekistan, with the assistance of the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), held a workshop on the issues of application of water legislation within the framework of the European Union program “Sustainable management of water resources in rural areas in Uzbekistan” with participation of foreign experts on international environmental law F.Kroes, F.Tusche and V.Duomo.

The Academy of the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Uzbekistan, with the assistance of the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), held a workshop on the issues of application of water legislation within the framework of the European Union program “Sustainable management of water resources in rural areas in Uzbekistan” with participation of foreign experts on international environmental law F.Kroes, F.Tusche and V.Duomo.

The event was attended by professors and students of the Academy.

Within the framework of the workshop, foreign experts demonstrated the experience of legal regulation in water sector of France, Austria, the Netherlands and other European countries, a brief review of environmental protection and water legislation, as well as EU environmental policy was held.

Participants of the event raised questions on current problems of using transboundary rivers by countries, the ways of their solutions were discussed.

At the workshop, issues of improving the national legislation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, further development, planning and regulation of water sector were also discussed.
