Uzbekistan hosted the International Week of Pilgrimage Tourism.

The forum was organized at the initiative of the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Heritage of the Republic of Uzbekistan in cooperation with several organizations to develop the potential of the pilgrimage tourism in the country, popularize Uzbekistan as one of the important centers of world civilization, its high recognition by the world community and international organizations, as well as diversify services on pilgrimage tourism and increasing tourism exports.

Exhibitions, workshops, scientific and practical conferences and cultural and educational events were held aimed at developing pilgrimage tourism.
