Tashkent hosts the International Mining and Metals Forum of Uzbekistan.

Deputy Minister of Mining and Geology of the Republic of Uzbekistan Urol Yusupov, First Deputy Chairman of the Board of JSC UzAssets Adamas Ilkevicius, and others noted that the sustainable development of the mining industry worldwide depends on regional and international cooperation.

The forum, which is being held for the sixth time, is a vast platform for discussing and modeling the future landscape of the mining industry and metallurgy.

The event is being attended by specialists and experts from Uzbekistan, Australia, Austria, the United Kingdom, Germany, Canada, Poland, Russia, France, China, and Switzerland.

“In Uzbekistan, measures are being implemented for comprehensive geological study, effective implementation of replenishment programs and rational use of subsoil, as well as the development of a long-term mineral resource base”, says a department head at the Ministry of Mining and Geology Maqsud Bolibekov. “A legal framework has been created regulating relations in the sphere, which is constantly being improved. The documents regulate the management of the mining industry and geology, including increasing the base of mineral raw materials and efficient subsoil use. This forum is one of the important steps in establishing cooperation in the use of advanced technologies and engineering solutions for the search, exploration, and development of deposits and efficient processing of mineral raw materials”.

The forum program is full of popular and progressive themes, professional discussions, and important business meetings. Among the main topics are the principles of international and regional cooperation, digital solutions in the mining industry, and geotechnologies for prospecting, exploration, and deposit development.

A plenary session was held on national and regional principles of industrial cooperation. The participants discussed priority areas of collaboration, improving exports in Uzbekistan’s mining industry, and regional and state measures for accelerated industry development.

At the special session “Women in the Mining Industry,” the role of women in the mining industry, their contribution to the industry, their influence on company activities, and gender equality were revealed.

On the second day of the forum, issues of localization of production, digitalization of enterprises, scientific innovations, and long-term investment projects will be discussed.
