The 56th International Mendeleev Chemistry Olympiad among schoolchildren, organized by the Agency of Presidential Educational Institutions of Uzbekistan, has been completed.
The winners were awarded at New Uzbekistan Complex in Tashkent.
Advisor to the President of Uzbekistan for Youth, Science, Education, Healthcare, Culture and Sports Abdujabbor Abduvokhidov noted that talented youth from 16 countries visited Uzbekistan as part of the Olympiad.

Director of the Agency of Presidential Educational Institutions Hilola Umarova stressed that the holding of the International Mendeleev Chemistry Olympiad in Uzbekistan was a special event. Almost a hundred talented young people from different countries demonstrated their abilities, improved their knowledge, found new friends and visited the historical monuments of Tashkent and Samarkand.
“Representatives of five countries are among the medalists”, says the Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Olympiad, Dean of the Faculty of Chemistry of Moscow State University Stepan Kalmykov. – High results were shown not only by experienced teams, but also by newcomers.

Ten participants won gold medals. A student of the specialized school named after Abu Ali ibn Sina under the Agency of Presidential Educational Institutions Azimjon Jamolov is also among them. Ignatiy Tarabrin from Russia became the absolute winner and holder of the special monetary prize named after Academician Valery Lunin of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
Winners were awarded gold, silver and bronze medals, special diplomas and certificates.
