The 9th International Legal Forum of the Asia-Pacific has taken place.

The virtual event was attended by the chairmen and judges of the Supreme Courts of Uzbekistan, Russia, South Korea, China, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Vietnam, Indonesia, Cambodia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Pakistan, Thailand, and the Philippines.

At the event, chaired by the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Lebedev, issues of fair judging and the development of economic integration were discussed. The issues related to the procedures for resolving economic disputes and judicial protection of intellectual rights in the context of economic integration were considered.

In particular, the delegates shared the experience of their countries on the issues related to the recognition and enforcement of foreign judgments and arbitral awards, alternative means of dispute resolution, expedited remedies in economic disputes, application of interim measures, specialized justice for resolving foreign economic disputes, resolving cross-border disputes, the creation and operation of judicial platforms for international legal assistance in the resolution of disputes with the participation of foreign persons between the supreme courts of the participating states.

The Chairman of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Uzbekistan Kozimjon Kamilov provided information about investment conditions in Uzbekistan, as well as improving the system of judicial protection of the rights and legitimate interests of investors and entrepreneurs.

It was emphasized that the development of mutually beneficial cooperation with the countries of the Asia-Pacific region is one of the important directions of Uzbekistan’s foreign policy.
