The event, organized by UNICEF Office in Uzbekistan, the Republican Center for Social Adaptation of Children, the Republican Public Children’s Fund “Sen yolg’iz emassan” and a number of organizations, was attended by experts from the USA, Israel, Russia, Georgia, and the Republic of Belarus. They expressed their proposals for full support of children in need, children with disabilities, children of orphanages.

The international conference is dedicated to social protection of children. It is very important in certain countries to pay attention to socially needy children, children of orphanages, as well as to children from disadvantaged families. However, we consider it necessary to speak mainly about the protection and support of children of two categories. The first category is children of orphanages. Children are raised mainly in families. However, it also happens that for various reasons children are far from their parents. And whatever the attention of the state, it does not replace the family atmosphere. The second category is children who are in conflict with the law. 

In this regard, we are proposing the creation of an independent juvenile justice system in Uzbekistan. Adoption and improvement of laws in this direction will be taken into account in the reform process. We hope that in this way Uzbekistan’s children will be fully protected.

In this process, comprehensive medical work is carried out for parents and children with disabilities. And in this direction Uzbekistan is achieving effective results. But this is not enough. Today it is necessary to use new technologies, foreign experience. The conference provides with these opportunities.
