Samarkand hosts the 3rd International Ophthalmology Congress.
Over 1,500 ophthalmologists from the United States, Germany, Switzerland, Ukraine, Türkiye, Russia, India, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and Armenia are attending the congress along with employees of the Ministry of Health, the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center for Eye Microsurgery, and medical institutions of Uzbekistan.
The event covered current issues in almost all areas of ophthalmology and issues of diagnosis and treatment of common eye diseases, which creates a unique opportunity for young ophthalmologists to exchange experience and improve their skills.
The Minister of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan A. Inoyatov noted that as a result of the high attention paid to medicine in Uzbekistan, in 2018-2023, the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center for Eye Microsurgery was provided with 150 units of high-tech medical equipment.
At the conference, along with an analysis of achievements in the sphere, participants also exchange opinions on current issues in ophthalmology. Important proposals were put forward for industry development based on international experience. Experts are discussing further plans for the development of cooperation.
