The 18th International Leather, Footwear, Accessories, Fur, Wool, and Localized Products Exhibition-Fair “UzCharmExpo-EURASIA 2025” is currently taking place at the Uzexpocentre National Exhibition Complex in Tashkent.
The event is organized by the Uzcharmsanoat Association in cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the People’s Bank. Around 200 companies from Central Asia, Italy, Türkiye, Iran, China, and Russia are showcasing their products.
At the official opening ceremony, Deputy Chairman of Uzcharmsanoat Mirsaid Zokhidov and representatives of international partner organizations delivered speeches, highlighting the exhibition as an essential platform for leading manufacturers in the leather industry.
According to Mirsaid Zokhidov, Deputy Chairman of the Uzcharmsanoat Association, systematic efforts are currently underway in the country to enhance production and export potential, attract more investment, implement large-scale projects with foreign participation in the leather industry, and establish cooperation with well-known global brands.
“In Uzbekistan, large-scale reforms are being carried out to develop the leather industry, resulting in consistent growth in production volumes each year”, stated Mr. Zokhidov. “For example, footwear production increased from 70.5 million pairs in 2020 to 205.2 million pairs in 2024. The production area for leather goods grew from 1,261.8 million square decimeters to 2,710.2 million square decimeters, while the output of leather accessories rose from 70.1 billion UZS in 2020 to 166.9 billion UZS in 2024. As for export geography, the number of countries importing Uzbek products expanded from 12 in 2020 to 40 in 2024. This demonstrates the growing demand for domestic products in the global market and the widening of international partnerships. The dynamics of investment attraction have also improved significantly. In 2020, 105 projects totaling $187.6 million were implemented with foreign capital. By 2024, this figure had increased to 181 projects worth $265.1 million. These developments have contributed to creating new jobs and further advancing the industry”.
B2B, G2B, and G2G meetings are being held as part of the exhibition. Participants are also showcasing their latest products and innovative developments.
The exhibition will run until April 18.
