The delegation of the International Energy Agency (IEA) conducted the second stage of an in-depth review of Uzbekistan's energy policy.
The delegation held informal meetings with representatives of government bodies, agencies, and companies.
It should be noted that within the framework of the EU4Energy program, the IEA is implementing a program focused on the countries of the Eastern Partnership and Central Asia, including Uzbekistan. The purpose of the program is to support the implementation of a sustainable energy policy.
The in-depth review of Uzbekistan's energy policy is conducted by the IEA in three stages and is being implemented under the leadership of the country's government.
Following the meetings, the IEA mission submitted a draft report on the available data to the Ministry of Energy and the State Statistics Committee. The recommendations developed by the international analytical group are designed to assist the government of the country in a better assessment of data and policy on energy. The report will also provide potential investors with a broad opportunity to get acquainted with macroeconomic trends and issues in the energy sector.
Based on the results of the analysis, it is planned to begin work on the final recommendations, the release of which is scheduled for July 2022.
