In Namangan region, projects to modernize irrigation systems, implemented jointly with the World Bank, will continue.

This was discussed at the meeting between the Hokim of the region Shavkat Abdurazakov and members of the delegation led by the Chief Specialist of the World Bank Ozod Abdulkhamid.

As noted, at the initiative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the first and second phases of the project on water resources management in Fergana valley were carried out to modernize the irrigation systems. As a result, the efficiency of water resources use has increased.

Members of the World Bank delegation visited Yangikurgan district of the region, where they analyzed the work carried out and the results achieved within the framework of the Water Resources Management in Fergana Valley project.

Bank representatives also got acquainted with the work on the reconstruction of the pumping station “Eskiyer” and took part in the opening of well No. 37 in the district village of Iskovot.
