International Congress kicks off in Samarkand

The grand opening ceremony of the 8th International Congress “The Heritage of Great Ancestors – the foundation of the Third Renaissance” took place in the Congress Hall of the International Tourist Center in Samarkand.

Advisor to the President H. Sultanov read out the congratulatory message of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the congress participants.

In the congratulatory message of the Head of state, special attention was also paid to the activities of the World Society for the Study, Preservation and Popularization of the Cultural Legacy of Uzbekistan. In particular, it was noted that within the framework of the project “Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan in the collections of the world”, a series of album books consisting of 70 volumes was published, which were delivered to famous libraries, universities, museums, prestigious educational institutions of Uzbekistan and abroad.

The presentation of 10 more volumes of the album books in this series during the congress is an important cultural event.

– First of all, on behalf of the participants, we would like to express our gratitude for the congratulations sent by the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, said Firdavs Abdukhalikov, Director of the Center of Islamic Civilization under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan. – Such trust encourages domestic and foreign scientists to work even harder. Much work is being carried out in Uzbekistan to create the foundations of the Third Renaissance. Science, education, and culture are developing. Seven years ago, the Center of Islamic Civilization was established based on a Presidential Decree to realize these noble goals. Today, activities in this direction are yielding positive results.

It should be noted that the 8th VIII International Congress, held from August 23 to 26 in Tashkent and Samarkand, was organized by the Government of Uzbekistan jointly with the Center of Islamic Civilization, the World Society for the Study, Preservation and Popularization of the Cultural Legacy of Uzbekistan and the Eriell Group.

Its main goal is to widely highlight the development path of the New Uzbekistan in the cultural-humanitarian sphere, achievements and reforms in the religious-educational sphere, to establish practical cooperation between domestic scientists and foreign experts in studying, preserving, and popularizing the rich cultural and spiritual heritage of Uzbek people.
