International Conference timed to the 30th anniversary of the Constitutional Court

Tashkent hosted an international conference on “Constitutional reforms and current issues of the development of the Institute of Constitutional Control”, timed to the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Representatives of the Oliy Majlis, Supreme Court, Supreme Judicial Council, Prosecutor General’s Office, the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan, OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Uzbekistan, Konrad Adenauer Foundation, and Tashkent State University of Law, as well as more than 30 experts from international organizations, attended the event.

Chairman of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Uzbekistan Mirzo-Ulugbek Abdusalomov opened the event. In his opening speech, he noted that the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Uzbekistan is a vivid reflection of significant historical processes on the path of Uzbekistan’s development, which are associated with strengthening the foundations of independent statehood, creating a democratic rule of law, and building a just society.

Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis T. Narbayeva, Speaker of the Legislative Chamber N. Ismoilov, Chairman of the Supreme Court B. Islomov, Chairman of the Supreme Judicial Council H. Yodgorov, Officer-in-Charge of the OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Uzbekistan S. Sizov, as well as the Chairmen of the Constitutional Courts of Türkiye, Kyrgyzstan, and Thailand made congratulatory speeches.

Within the framework of the international conference in connection with the transfer of the chairmanship of the Association of Asian Constitutional Courts and Equivalent Institutions from the Constitutional Court of Thailand to the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2026-2027, a ceremony was held to transfer the symbolic flag of the Association to the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

At the anniversary event, honorary judges, activists of partner organizations, and scientists were awarded commemorative badges of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
