International conference on reforms in the judicial-legal sphere

Tashkent hosted an international conference “Reforms in the judicial-legal sphere: the experience of CIS and Japan”.

The event was organized based on the Cooperation Program between the Center for Advanced Training of Lawyers under the Ministry of Justice of Uzbekistan and the Legal Training and Research Institute of Japan for 2021-2022.

It was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Justice, Higher School of Judges, the Academy of Prosecutor General's Office, the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Tashkent State University of Law, the Chamber of Lawyers, the Notary Chamber, Madad NGO, as well as specialists from Uzbekistan and abroad.

The meeting is aimed at analyzing reforms in the judicial sphere, determining the prospects for the development of the judicial system, increasing legal awareness and culture of the population. It was noted that the reformation of the judicial system was carried out in two stages. The first stage covered 1991-2000, and the second stage – 2001-2010.

The conference will contribute to strengthening cooperation and will become the basis for creating a legal environment based on international standards.
