Abu Rayhan Biruni Institute of Oriental Studies of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan hosted the International Conference of Young Orientalists named after academician Ubaydulla Karimov.
The conference was dedicated to the new perspectives for the study of Islamic culture, history and art in Uzbekistan.
An exhibition of rare samples of the institute’s manuscript fund was organized.
Director General of IRCICA, Professor, Dr. Mahmud Erol Kılıç and Vice-President of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Director of the Institute of Abu Rayhan Biruni Institute of Oriental Studies B. Abdukhalimov addressed the event.
Scientists from Uzbekistan, Turkey and Kyrgyzstan delivered speeches on the role of the academician Ubaydulla Karimov’s research in the oriental studies of Uzbekistan, the role and significance of Mawarannahr in Islamic civilization, Muslim ulema in the public life of Central Asia in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
The virtual conference was attended by representatives of social and humanitarian institutes and museums of the Academy of Sciences, universities specializing in this field, as well as scientists from universities and research centers of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, Russia, Turkey and the United States.
The conference was attended by the Advisor to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sh. Minovarov.
