Tashkent hosts traditional International Chess Tournament “Tashkent Open”, dedicated to the memory of the first grandmaster of Uzbekistan Georgy Agzamov.The main objective of this competition, organized by Uzbekistan Chess Federation, is further popularization of chess among youth, improving experience of athletes, broad propaganda of capabilities and potential of Uzbekistan chess school.
International tournament “Tashkent Open” in memory of the first grandmaster of Uzbekistan Georgy Agzamov has been held since 2007.
About 200 chess players from Afghanistan, Armenia, Belarus, Belgium, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Spain, Tajikistan and Ukraine are taking part in this year’s international tournament.
