The Development Strategy Center hosted a roundtable discussion on “International Arbitration: The experience of Uzbekistan and foreign practice”.
The event, organized with the assistance of the Committee of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Combating Corruption, Judicial and Legal Issues, was attended by deputies of the parliament, representatives of ministries and agencies, international organizations and law firms, experts.
It was noted that in the countries with investment attractiveness, special attention is paid to development of international commercial arbitration in legal and organizational aspects, since it serves to create optimal methods for resolving disputes.
The state program for the current year defines the task of developing a draft law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On international commercial arbitration”.
The proposals and recommendations received at the event will be used to further improve the draft law.
The event was also attended by representatives of the international law firm Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton. They handed over a new literature on jurisprudence to the library of the Development Strategy Center.
